Edward is the Chairman of the Board of Malachite Innovations where he provides board leadership, strategic oversight, fundraising expertise and regulatory insight.

Edward is a seasoned executive with deep public company experience, including serving as Chairman and CEO of ProCentury Insurance Corporation (NASDAQ: PROS) and Founding CEO of Century Business Services (NYSE: CBZ). Currently, Edward serves as the Chairman and CEO of Covius, LLC and is an owner and Director of Continental Heritage Insurance Company. Edward held elective office in Cleveland, Ohio for twenty consecutive years, including five terms as a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives, three terms in the Ohio House of Representatives, and a four-year term as Cuyahoga County Commissioner.

Dick is a Director of the Board of Malachite Innovations where he provides board leadership, strategic oversight, fundraising expertise and regulatory insight.

Dick has led a highly distinguished career in public and private service. Dick served as the Governor of Ohio, Director of the Peace Corps, United States Ambassador to India and the President of Colorado College. He served for six years as Chair of the Government-University-Industry Roundtable at the National Academy of Sciences. Dick is Founding Board Chair of the US Olympic and Paralympic Museum and Board Chair of Global Communities.

Michael Cavanaugh

CEO and Director

Michael is CEO and Director of Malachite Innovations where he is responsible for strategy, operations, fundraising, investor relations and creating shareholder value.

Michael has over twenty-five years of investment, management and advisory experience serving in key leadership roles in well over 100 transactions totaling more than $3 billion in value. Michael’s experience includes venture capital, private equity and special situation investing in a variety of industries and transaction contexts. Currently, Michael is the Chief Investment Officer of Tower 1 and Manager of several affiliated partnerships. Michael previously worked at Merrill Lynch, Resilience Capital, Conway MacKenzie and Kaye Scholer, as well as leading several entrepreneurial ventures. Michael is a Chartered Financial Analyst, Certified Public Accountant, Certified Turnaround Professional and Attorney.

Richard is CFO and Counsel of Malachite Innovations where he is responsible for financial, administrative and legal matters.

Richard has significant experience serving in financial and legal roles for public and private early-stage ventures, including as Director of Bristol Investment Fund, Chief Compliance Officer and Counsel of Bristol Capital Advisors, and Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel of Research Solutions (NASDAQ: RSSS). Richard has also worked as a Securities Attorney for an international law firm in New York and London. Richard is an Attorney licensed in California, New York and Florida.

Dr. Brandon Zipp

Chief Science Officer

Brandon is Chief Science Officer of Malachite Innovations where he is responsible for research and development, advancing drug development assets, and related regulatory and intellectual property matters.

Brandon has led the research and development efforts of Malachite Innovations, and its predecessors, for nearly a decade and has been instrumental in developing our proprietary glycosylation process and the resulting glycosylated cannabinoid molecules. Brandon’s academic studies have focused on biochemistry, cancer biology, and neurobiology.

Rebecca is the Human Resources Manager of Malachite Innovations where she is responsible for payroll, benefits, insurance, recruiting, training and employee relations. Rebecca brings to Malachite over three decades of executive experience in senior administrative and human resources roles, with specific expertise working for public companies with multi-state operations.

Rebecca's experience includes prior executive positions with Covius, LLC, Nationwide Insurance, ProCentury Insurance and The State of Ohio, Department of Public Safety & Ohio Attorney General's Office.

Strategic Advisor

General Hoyer is a Strategic Advisor of Malachite Innovations where he provides strategic advice and leadership to Malachite’s management team with a particular focus on public-private partnerships and next generation economic development opportunities.

General Hoyer currently serves as Vice President for Economic Innovation at West Virginia University, Senior Mentor for Civil Military Innovation Institute and a member of the Board of Advisors for Fidelis New Energy LLC. General Hoyer, a distinguished and highly decorated military veteran, has served for over 10 years as the Adjutant General, West Virginia Joint Forces Headquarters-West Virginia where he provided command guidance and vision to the West Virginia Army and Air National Guard of more than 6,500 Citizen Soldiers and Airmen. General Hoyer began his military career as a Cavalry Officer in the West Virginia National Guard and served for over 14 years with the 2nd Battalion, 19th Special Forces Group.

Strategic Advisor

Bernie Kosar is a Strategic Advisor of Malachite Innovations where he provides strategic advice and leadership to Malachite’s management team with a particular focus on climate change initiatives and the revitalization of economically challenged communities.

Bernie is a former NFL quarterback who played eight seasons with the Cleveland Browns, one season with the Dallas Cowboys (where he won a Super Bowl), and two seasons with the Miami Dolphins. Bernie played collegiately at the University of Miami where he led the team to a National Championship in 1983. Since retiring from professional football, Bernie has been actively involved in numerous business ventures and charitable organizations, with a recent focus on innovative health and wellness protocols, climate change initiatives, and the revitalization of Appalachian coal communities. Bernie is a Board Trustee of the University of Miami and Founder of Community at the Core, a non-profit organization focused on next generation agricultural development and education throughout the Appalachian Region.

Gary White is a Strategic Advisor of Malachite Innovations where he provides strategic advice and leadership to Malachite’s management team with a particular focus on governmental services and next generation economic opportunities.

Gary has more than fifty years in senior and executive level management in the coal and natural resource industries. The last forty of those fifty years he has served as Chief Executive Officer of both private and public companies. In 2014, Gary was named Interim President of Marshall University after the sudden death of its President. In 2016, Gary was asked to serve as Interim CEO of Mountain Health Network a newly formed healthcare system created by the merger of the two major medical facilities in Huntington, WV. Currently, Gary is retired from full time employment but continues to be involved through his personal consulting firm, JRW, LLC, providing transactional, management and governmental services to its clients. Gary is a Director of United BankShares, Inc. (UBSI), Chairman of the James H. Harless Foundation, a Director of The Mining Mutual Insurance Company, and a member of several other industry, advisory and charitable boards.
